Halloween is fast approaching, so its time to get in touch with your creepy side, and Manchester is a great place to do just that. Explore our list of creepy activities in and around the city.
1. Hunt ghosts in a haunted Medieval Hall
Ordsall Hall is a 15th-century stately home, notorious for the plausible (although unsubstantiated) story that Guy Fawkes's Gunpowder Plot was planned in the house.
This atmospheric building is said to be haunted by several ghosts of the former residents of the house, including The White Lady. Stories of Ordsall Halls hauntings were so prominent that it has even featured on an episode of the tv show Most Haunted.
Join researchers from Manchester Metropolitan University as they investigate the hauntings. Tickets can be purchased here.
2. Speak to the dead at The Royal Exchange
Do you believe we can pierce the veil and speak to those who have passed on? Experience the thrill of Séance as you climb inside a completely dark shipping container for a terrifying twenty minute intense sonic performance. Challenge your views on superstition in this inventive, unnerving exercise in surprise and suspense.
Tickets available here.
3. Listen to spooky stories around the campfire
As the sun goes down on the Halloween weekend, settle around the digital campfire as a group of actors tell you terrifying tales to chill the bones.
This is a free event taking place in Exchange Square at 5pm on 28th October.
