Looking for plans to keep the kids happy and content over the half-term holidays? We hear you! Check out our selected family-friendly activities happening across the city. Summer, singing, and smiles are what we’re planning for this Summer! With Manchester having an array of buzzy, exciting activities suited for the whole family, you have a wide selection to choose from. Starting with The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show at The Lowry, from the 28th of May until the 1st of June. This critically acclaimed production features 75 different loveable puppets and adapts four stories by author/illustrator Eric Carle: Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Busy Spider, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
For curious and creative minds, explore LEGOLAND Discovery Centre for special half-term activities and dive into the world of Lego building and creativity, suitable for all LEGO enthusiasts. Calling all dancers, dance away at the day at Afrocats x Whitworth this May Half Term from Wednesday 29 May, 12 pm-3 pm and Thursday 30 May, 12 pm-3 pm, enjoy a selection of activities from drumming, dance, and creative arts workshops.
Looking for some entertainment right in the heart of Manchester?
We have you sorted. Dine, dance and enjoy delectable treats at The Lowry Hotel this week. On Thursday, let loose with our live music, starring Taurad, our selected guitar player. Be accompanied by one of our stylish cocktails and whisk the night away. Join us on Saturday for drinks and beats, and be transported to a melodic distraction, with chilled, funky house beats. Finish the week at The Lowry Hotel and join us for a smooth, soothing Sunday with pianist Owen Edwards, to take you to a peaceful paradise.
Do you Love football and are intrigued to know the history of the magical game? Then the National Football Museum is a place for you. A place to discover football’s favourite stories and history, with four galleries, six interactive games, programmed exhibitions, guided tours, and workshops, there’s something to enjoy for everybody.
Join the fun at Shaun the Sheep: Find the Flock at Tatton Park now until the 23rd of June for outdoor family fun, with tickets from £6, enjoy a colourful art trail featuring supersized Shaun The Sheep sculptures, created by local and regional artists.
Fancy something creative and crafty? Enjoy a selection of crafty, dress-up, colouring activities this half term at Elizabeth’s Gaskell’s House, including a puuuurfect cat trail around the historic house to be enjoyed by all the family. Let your mind wander and enjoy some science fun at The Science and Industry Museum with their gloriously gross events, with their Operation Ouch! coming to an end on the 9th of June. A truly entertaining day out for all the family, to test that scientific knowledge.
