The time is almost here when children are let loose from school for February half-term and if you’re not sure what to do to keep them entertained, this is The Lowry Hotel Guide to a fun-filled half-term for everyone!

Throughout the February half – term, the Science and Industry Museum are hosting an array of activities to keep everyone entertained. Play, create, and experiment with free drop-in activities and science shows for all ages, from The Noisy Show to textiles demonstrations, there’s so much to do – and it’s all free, however the museum does accept monetary donations if you would like to.
For the kids with a sweet tooth, therefore all of them, you can treat them to their very own five-star experience with our kids go free afternoon tea at The River Restaurant. Whilst the adults enjoy their sweet and savoury delights, the little ones can indulge in sandwiches and sweet delights, including homemade candy floss, delicious double chocolate brownies and warm doughnuts in cinnamon sugar. A treat that you’ll know they’ll love.
With giant inflatables, interactive activities and a café for parents, Dreamland Imaginarium is an interactive world for all the kids to enjoy. There’s four different immersive fun zones to be explored, and so much fun to be had, this multi-sensory experience will keep the little ones entertained and allow their dreams to come to life. Based at Regent Retail Park in Manchester, it is only 15-minute drive from The Lowry Hotel.
If you fancy venturing out a little further, Chester Zoo, just a 1-hour drive from The Lowry Hotel, is hosting a Wild Science event from 18th February – 5th March, just in time for half-term! Your child could become a Chester Zoo scientist and explore all the wild & wacky wonders of the animal kingdom, with five different locations in the zoo there are ‘wonderlabs’ where kids can learn, interact, and embark on an amazing scientific journey.
Just a short 18-minute drive away from The Lowry Hotel, kids can take part in a fantastic treasure hunt with the Pirates & Mermaids hour long cruise at Salford Quays. Be warned! Adult participation in the treasure hunt is required, but fear not, a ‘Shiver Me Timbers’ rum punch is available for those older pirates whilst the little treasure seekers have their own snacks and juice. From fancy dress to bags of treasure from the mermaid’s grotto, this is the perfect adventure for the whole family.
