Cryotherapy Chamber:
The Cryotherapy Chamber has countless benefits. For example, exposing your body to a temperature of -110 degrees Celsius for three minutes causes your body to create endorphins, which elevates your mood, promotes better sleep, and lessens stress.
Studio Classes at RE:TREAT:
Our studio classes are at the heart of RE:TREAT, and we pride ourselves on creating a peaceful and relaxing environment to enable people to switch off from their everyday stresses. The mental health benefits of yoga, are endless, from breathing, grounding, mindfulness, gaining a new perspective, relaxation, movement, and community.
Breathing
Deep and focused breathing during a yoga practice sends signals to the brain that the body is relaxed and essentially safe.
Grounding
The mind becomes more centered and thoughts less cluttered, with also grounding regulating your heart rate during panic attacks. A way to direct your energy from the flighty and often scattered mind, into the sensations and stability of the body.
Mindfulness
Yoga is all about encouraging being in the present moment. From balancing postures requiring concentration to meditation, and encouraging observation, the mind becomes more engaged with the moment we’re in and less worried about the outside noise and stresses.
Relaxation
Techniques such as breathing methods and stretching out cramped muscles as well as giving yourself the time for self-care, all relaxes your body, prompts better sleep, lowers stress and brings peace of mind.
Movement
Moving your body and ‘getting out of your head’ decreases overthinking. Endorphins are released when we move our body, uplift our mood, and increase our motivation.
Community
Taking part in a group releases the bonding chemical Oxytocin, which increases feelings of connection and warmth and decreases isolation and stress.
